Q'Vert - an oil in water emulsion - can be described as an ideal fluid because its interaction with the formation rock is almost zero. This results in excellent borehole stability, and the retrieval of undispersed cuttings. Several formation damage mechanisms are eliminated when Q'Vert is used. Drilling with oil based mud also allow for densities below the water gradient. |
