The QM-12 system is a mixed potassium silicate complex which acts a superior shale stabilization system for either unfractured or fractured formations. QM-12 acts as a cementatious material within the pore network of the shale matrix by reacting with multivalent cations in the formation water. The ideal application for QM-12 is in troublesome shales in intermediate holes where casing will be set prior to drilling the main interval. |
