The GEL CHEMICAL system is the most versatile and commonly used mud system in Western Canada. Bentonite and PAC polymers in fresh water are the primary components of the system. System properties may be adjusted with additional chemicals to suit most drilling conditions. The objective when using this system is usually to drill to the zone of interest as quickly as possible.
